Ah Bock, a great style that is seldom done in this country. Bock is a style that started in the small german town of Einbeck in the 15th century. It is mostly a dark, strong lager produced as a seasonal winter or sometimes spring beer.

Burragorang Bock
	Brewer :	Scharer's Brewery
	Alcoholic Content :	6.8 % Alc/Vol

	Comment :	The Winestate Annual 1995 said : "Dark brown tinged with ruby highlights; blooming, full head. Aromas of toffee and Caramello chocolate. Rich, moussy mouth-feel with velvety texture. Full and sweet initial palate complemented by resinous hops and roasted malt aftertaste".

Cane Toad
	Brewer :	Sanctuary Cove
	Alcoholic Content :	7.0 % Alc/Vol
	Volume :	375 ml
	Comment :	I haven't tried this brew but Sanctuary Cove is know for producing good beers.

Hahn Cold Cock Bock
	Brewer :	Hahn/Lion Nathan
	Alcoholic Content :	6.8 % Alc/Vol

	Comment :	Excellent. This is a true bock style, it is a pity that it is only available for about one month of the year and hasn't been seen in several years. Winestate Annual 1995 said : "Appealing ruby-tan colour with tightly formed head. Rich, fragrant aroma with some hot notes. Full-bodied and complex with "cream sherry" flavour notes in a very malty palate rounded off with some spicy hops and lingering alcoholic warmth". Dr. Hahn it is time to revive this wonderful beer!

Tooheys Blue Bock
	Brewer :	Tooheys/Lion Nathan
	Alcoholic Content :	2.7 % Alc/Vol
	Volume :	375 ml
	Comment :	Not favourable if you compare it to Grolsch Bock or Hahn Cold Cock Bock. Not rich enough for my liking, it makes a good pilsener but not strong or flavoursome enough for it to earn the Bock title. Fortunately this beer seems to have gone the way of the dodo.
